Pet Health Manager - Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 7, 2026
Last updated: April 7, 2026
Pet Health Manager ("the App", "we", "us", "our") is published by Ruben Nahatakyan ("the Developer"). This Privacy Policy explains what data the App collects and how it protects that data.
The short version: we do not collect any personal data. Everything the App stores stays on your device, or, if you enable iCloud sync, in your own private iCloud container that only you can access.
1. What data does the App handle
The App lets you create and store the following information about your pets:
- Pet profiles (name, species, breed, date of birth, photo, notes)
- Medication records (name, dosage, schedule, history of doses)
- Vaccine records (name, date, due date, lot number, vet name, notes)
- Weight entries (date, value, notes)
- Vet visit notes (date, reason, diagnosis, vet/clinic name, notes)
- Symptom journal entries (date, severity, tags, notes)
- App preferences (e.g., preferred weight unit)
This data is created entirely by you. You can view, edit, export, and delete it at any time.
2. Where your data is stored
Free tier
All data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. The data never leaves your device.
Pet Health Pro (paid subscription)
Pro users can opt into iCloud sync. When enabled, your data is synchronized between your Apple devices via Apple's CloudKit service, inside a private CloudKit container tied to your personal iCloud account.
Important characteristics of this storage:
- The data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple
- Only you can access it — even Apple cannot read the contents of a private CloudKit container without your iCloud credentials
- The Developer has no access to this data, no server, and no way to view, copy, or share it
- If you sign out of iCloud or stop using the App, the data remains in your iCloud account until you delete it
For details on how Apple handles iCloud and CloudKit data, see Apple's own privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
3. What data we do NOT collect
We want to be explicit about everything the App does NOT do:
- ❌ No analytics SDKs (no Firebase, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude, etc.)
- ❌ No crash-reporting third parties (no Sentry, no Crashlytics)
- ❌ No advertising SDKs and no ad network identifiers
- ❌ No user accounts and no email/password collection
- ❌ No social login (no Sign in with Apple/Google/Facebook required)
- ❌ No location tracking
- ❌ No contacts, calendar, or address book access
- ❌ No microphone or motion sensor access
- ❌ No data sold or shared with anyone
The App's App Store privacy label is therefore listed as "Data Not Collected".
4. Permissions the App may request
The App will ask for the following system permissions only when needed to provide a feature you actively use:
- Notifications — to remind you when a medication dose is due. Notification content is generated locally on your device and never sent to a server.
- Photo library — only when you choose to add a profile photo for a pet. The App reads only the image you select and stores a copy in the same private storage as your other pet data.
- iCloud — only if you upgrade to Pro and enable sync. The App uses your existing iCloud account; you are never asked for credentials.
You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app under Privacy & Security.
5. Subscriptions and payments
Subscriptions to Pet Health Pro are sold and managed by Apple via the App Store. The Developer never sees your payment details, billing address, or Apple ID. We only receive an anonymous transaction verification from StoreKit confirming whether you have an active entitlement.
For subscription billing questions, refer to Apple's Subscription Terms: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/
6. Children's privacy
The App is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because no data is collected, the App is in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the GDPR's provisions on children's data.
7. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws)
Because the App does not collect any personal data, most data-protection rights are automatically satisfied — there is nothing for us to delete, export, correct, or restrict on your behalf.
You can exercise full control over your own data at any time:
- Access: open the App and view all your records
- Export: use the Pets → Export feature to generate a PDF
- Correct: edit any record directly in the App
- Delete: delete individual records, individual pets, or uninstall the App to remove all local data
- Stop syncing: disable iCloud for the App in iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud → Pet Health Manager
If you have questions about your rights, contact us at: ruben@nahatakyan.com
8. Security
Locally stored data is protected by your device passcode and biometric authentication (Touch ID / Face ID), as configured by you in iOS Settings. iCloud-synced data is protected by Apple's CloudKit infrastructure and your Apple ID security settings (we strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication on your Apple ID).
We have no servers and therefore cannot suffer a server-side breach.
9. Changes to this policy
If we ever change how the App handles data, we will update this policy and the "Last updated" date above. Substantial changes will be announced inside the App in a future release.
